The European Economic Area (EEA) includes the fifteen member states of the European Union (EU):

• Austria

• Belgium

• Denmark

• Finland

• France

• Germany

• Greece

• Ireland

• Italy

• Luxembourg

• Netherlands

• Portugal

• Spain

• Sweden

• United Kingdom

And three of the four states of the European Free Trade Association (ERTA):

• Iceland

• Norway

• Liechtenstein

CE marking is also recognized by Switzerland, which is a member of EFTA, but not of EEA or the EU.  ( This is a tariffs issue. )

In addition, countries considering membership in the EU but are not yet there are:

• Czech Republic

• Hungary

• Poland

• Slovakia

• Turkey
